From the escarpment to the eastern boundary
The Penrith local government area runs from the foot of the Blue Mountains at Leonay and Emu Plains, across the Nepean River, out to St Clair and Erskine Park in the east, north through the Castlereagh floodplain, and south down the Mulgoa valley. That is a lot of different roofs: inter-war and post-war tile, 1970s brick-and-tile estates, 1990s subdivisions, new Colorbond builds, and rural-residential acreage with sheds bigger than the house.
Each suburb page below covers the roof types, the local conditions and the faults we see most in that pocket. Call (02) 4705 5100 if yours is not listed — we cover the surrounding area too.
Penrith, the river flats and the western bank
The oldest and densest part of the area, plus the suburbs along and across the Nepean. Mature trees, mixed tile ages, and the parts of the floodplain the SES flags in a major flood event.
The rail corridor and the university suburbs
Along the Main Western line east of Penrith station, through the older 1950s and 1960s stock and into the newest subdivisions at Caddens and Claremont Meadows.
St Marys and the eastern suburbs
Post-war housing around Queen Street, the 1970s and 1980s estates south of the Great Western Highway, and the big 1980s subdivisions at St Clair and Erskine Park.
North of the city and the Castlereagh plain
Large 1980s estates giving way to acreage, market gardens and mapped bushfire-prone land. Long gutter runs, big sheds and tank water.
South, and up the Mulgoa valley
The 1990s and 2000s estate belt, the Defence land and rural blocks at Orchard Hills, and the heritage valley running south from Regentville.
Same service everywhere on this list
Wherever you are on it, the arrangement is the same: a free inspection with someone actually on the roof and in the roof space, a written itemised quote with no obligation, and a workmanship warranty on completed work. Work is carried out by established, licensed and insured roofing contractors working to NSW Fair Trading requirements.
